My name is Cardie Mahoney. At least it is in Second Life (SL). Since going into Linden Lab’s online virtual world, I’ve found it to be one of the most liberating experiences I have ever found. This was a world where I could be me – someone stunning, gorgeous, open, approachable and sexy. SL is somewhere I can be there for people as a good friend. It is a place where I can be comfortable in my body and open to every new experience that comes my way.

In real life (RL) I’m nothing special or stunning. I work what is meant to be a 9 to 5 job, although I seem to spend most of it carrying paperwork and laptops around Scotland, UK and the world after my boss so he has everything he needs. That schedule leaves little time for me to settle down and really get to know a city and people who live there. Sure I have friends and haunts in London, New York and Los Angeles, but that’s not the same.

This is why SL is so important to me. I’m more me than me when I’m in the world. People seek me out – I’m the girl that turns heads when she walks into a room, the one whose arrival really starts the party. And then one of my clients asked if I had any pictures. And I took a step back and thought for a minute – did he mean the Cardie in Second Life, or the Cardie in Real Life? Turned out he wasn’t sure either. So we kept talking about it, and I put together one or two pictures in SL for him. And at the same time, the germ of the idea that became this site.

  I’m a shade over 6 foot, not enough to be 6’1”, but enough to be more than 6 foot.
• Hair:
  Normally by Panache Designs, and given the choice I’ll sport a nice deep mahogany red tone in it.
• Eyes:
  Chestnut brown in my regular make-up
• Birthday:
  March 30. That makes me an Aries. I share my birthday with Eric Clapton, Robbie Coltrane, Rolf Harris, MC Hammer and (I can never believe this) Celine Dion.
• Favourite Colour:
  Purple!
• Top three fantasy girls:
  Salam Hayek, Nicole Kidman (mmm, Moulin Rouge) and Audrey Hepburn.
• Top three fantasy boys:
  Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran), Richard O’Brien (Rocky Horror Show) and Johnny Depp.
